Holy crap, this is scary:
" [...] the "Marital Rating Scale—Wife's Chart," a test developed in the late 1930s by George W. Crane, MD, PhD, (1901–95) of Northwestern University, who ran a counseling practice, wrote a syndicated national newspaper column called "The Worry Clinic" and started his own matchmaking service."
Whenever I feel threatened and afraid, I often comfort myself by recalling that, no matter what, nobody's going to make me go back in time as a housewife from the 1930's. Also, didn't the makers of this chart realize that items 11 and 12 on both the merits and demerits sides, are contradictory? A woman just can't win.
